Omegon Dewlint 12 cm for Small Capture Mirrors: the forgotten mirror<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

A dew strap works differently than a dew shield. Instead of shielding the optics, it holds the glass edge a few degrees above the dew point. This prevents water vapor from condensing on it, even at high humidity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a Newton, the viewfinder is often the first thing to get covered: it hangs in the open tube, directly exposed to the night sky. A dew cap doesn\u2019t help there. This short strip wraps around the viewfinder holder and keeps the viewfinder just above the dew point.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Applying and adjusting<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Wrap the strap around the eyepiece, lens, or tube. The flexible design conforms to the curve, and the hook-and-loop closure secures it in place. A controller allows for stepless power adjustment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
