In plaats van de optiek af te schermen, houdt het de glasrand een paar graden boven het dauwpunt. Daardoor kan waterdamp er niet op condenseren, ook niet bij hoge luchtvochtigheid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Grote Newtons en Dobsons hebben een navenant grote vangspiegel, die in de open tubus snel afkoelt en beslaat.
