Omegon Pro Pier for iOptron Mounts: an iOptron mount on solid ground<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Omegon Pro pier gives your telescope a sturdy, vibration-free base, at home or at a dark site. With a weight of approximately 9 kg and foldable legs, the pier is easy to transport despite a load capacity of 87 kg.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A standard tripod bends under load and vibrates with every touch. A column with a fixed center column and widely splayed legs does not: the construction is stiffer, allowing the image to settle faster after focusing or adjusting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Adapter for iOptron<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The special iOptron mounting adapter comes with a centering pin, azimuth pin, and screw set. This allows the pier to fit mounts such as the CEM40, GEM45, HEM27, and CEM70. The azimuth pin is essential: without that fixed reference point, the mount will rotate away during alignment.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Leveling and aligning<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The leveling system with adjustable and fixable screws precisely positions the column horizontally, even on uneven terrain. This is the basis for a good pole setup: if the column is tilted, any subsequent alignment will work against you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Materials and construction<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The column is constructed from anodized aluminum and stainless steel. That combination provides stiffness without the weight of a cast iron column, which makes the difference between a fixed setup and one you can take with you.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
