Omegon Oberon 23 mm Eyepiece 82\u00b0 (2 inch): 82-degree field of view with spacewalk effect<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Omegon Oberon 23 mm is an ultra-wide-angle eyepiece with a field of view of 82 degrees. At that point, the edges disappear from your view: the familiar spacewalk effect, as if you are looking freely through space.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The housing is waterproof and filled with nitrogen. Dew and moisture, the permanent companions of Dutch observation nights, have no chance to cause internal fogging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

82 degrees: the spacewalk effect<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With an 82-degree apparent field of view, the edge of the field lies outside your direct field of view. Objects float in a star field instead of inside a circle. On a Dobson without a tracking motor, it also means maximum tracking time before you need to readjust.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Built for humid nights<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The waterproof, nitrogen-filled construction prevents internal condensation and keeps dust out. The multi-layer coating on all air-glass surfaces keeps contrast high, and the fold-down eyecup can be adjusted to your viewing distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 2-inch barrel has filter threads for moon and nebula filters.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

What do you see with 23 mm?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On a telescope with a 1200 mm focal length, a 23 mm objective lens provides 52x magnification with a true field of view of just over one and a half degrees. The Andromeda Nebula and the Veil Nebula, along with their surroundings, fit within this field of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even as a finder scope on larger Dobsonians, the 23 mm is a logical staple.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
