Extremely sharp across a wide field of view, up to the edge of your sensor.

A Ritchey-Chrétien uses two hyperbolic mirrors: the design of virtually every professional observatory. The result is a large, coma-free field of view without a corrector: stars remain round all the way to the edges of the sensor.

The open carbon truss construction is the recipe of professional observatories: rigid, light, and thermally stable, with natural ventilation that prevents its own microclimate inside the tube. The built-in 12V fan cools the primary mirror up to twice as fast, so you're working at full sharpness sooner.

Sharpness that remains

The quartz mirrors keep the focus stable, even in long exposures and falling temperatures: hardly any adjustment required, more usable data. The ball-bearing 3 inch monorail focuser lights up large-format image fields without vignetting.

Extension arms adjust the backfocus to any camera configuration; the Losmandy falcon-tail attaches to observatory mounts.

Included

Ritchey-Chrétien optics 355/2845 with hyperbolic quartz mirrors (honeycomb structure)

Open carbon truss tube

3 inch monorail focuser

Powerful fans

Extensions

Losmandy dovetail

Featured accessories

The Omegon Pro UHC 2-inch filter (89 euros) brings out emission nebulae and the Omegon Powerbank 10k 12V (39.90 euros) powers fans and camera on location.

For whom yes, for whom no

Well: astronomy enthusiasts and very advanced astrophotographers who want 14-inch RC performance for the best price. Not: those who want to save on assembly; the Lightweight version further reduces the mirror mass. Are you unsure between the models?
