Sunbathe safely: always filter first<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The plug-in solar filter goes over the front of the tube, so sunlight is dimmed before it enters the optics. Always place the filter on before aiming and check it for damage before each use: never look at the sun through a telescope without an undamaged filter, as this will cause permanent eye damage within a second.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Without a filter, this is simply a wide-field telescope for evening use: with a 70 mm aperture and a 400 mm brand focal length (f\/5.7), you can see the Moon, star fields, and open star clusters in a wide field of view.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Two eyepieces: 20x and 40x<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With the 20 mm eyepiece you view at 20x and the entire solar disk easily fits in the field of view. The 10 mm eyepiece brings you to 40x for detail in sunspot groups. The 5x24 finder helps with aiming; never use the finder with the sun, but aim via the shadow of the tube.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
