You place the wedge between the tripod and tracker and set the pole altitude with precision adjustment knobs: millimeter work instead of struggling.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The standard wedge is sufficient for wide-angle lenses, but when working with telephoto lenses or a small telescope, the wedge determines the quality of your polar alignment and thus your maximum exposure time.
