This glass delivers sharp, color-pure star points, and this very sharpness makes guiding more accurate: guiding software can determine the center of gravity of a sharp star more precisely than a blob. Made for guiding refractors with focal lengths from 700 to 1200 mm.

The helicoidal focusing works via the dew shield: loosen the ribbed counter-ring, slide the hood until the star is in focus, tighten it again. At the rear is an extendable extension tube for extra focus range. This version is red, supplied with a Vixen-style dovetail and carrying bag.

Also a mini-astrograph

With the readily available Flat61R flattener, the GuideStar 61 becomes a flattened photography lens for small sensors: a complete travel astrograph in addition to its work as a guider.

Included

GuideStar 61 guidescope

Vixen-style dovetail

Transport bag

Featured accessories

Expand with the William Optics Flat61R flattener to also use the GuideStar 61 as a compact astrograph.

For whom yes and for whom no

✓ Astrophotographers with a 700 to 1200mm focal length refractor

✓ Looking for a guide who can also serve as a travel astrophotographer

If you're only guiding a short refractor, a UniGuide 32 or 50 is sufficient and lighter.

Specifications

Opening

61 mm (2.4 inches)

Objective lens

FPL-53

Suitable for guiding

Refractors with 700 to 1200 mm focal length

Focus

Helical through the dew cap, plus extendable extension tube

Assembly

Vixen-style dovetail

Included

Transport bag

Color

Red

You can find more accessories for this brand at the William Optics brand page.

William Optics GuideStar 61 apo guidescope (red) with FPL-53 objective: precise guiding for refractors from 700 to 1200 mm.
