iOptron SkyHunter AZ GoTo Mount with Tripod: Lightweight GoTo Mount with Tripod<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The iOptron SkyHunter AZ is an altazimuth GoTo mount weighing only 1.3 kg that carries telescopes up to 5 kg (11 lbs). In this version, it comes complete with the matching tripod, so you immediately have a complete observation setup.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Using the built-in WiFi, you control the mount with SkySafari or iOptron Commander on your smartphone or tablet. Choose an object from the catalog and the SkyHunter slews to it automatically and tracks it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Thanks to the low weight of the complete set, this is a true grab-and-go setup: within a few minutes you are outside observing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Find objects with GoTo<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Two DC servo motors with optical encoders drive both axes. After a simple alignment on one or two stars, the mount autonomously locates planets, star clusters, and nebulae.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Control is via WiFi using SkySafari or iOptron Commander on iOS and Android. Control from a computer via ASCOM or INDI is also possible, and the optional Go2Nova 8410 hand controller works as well.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Light, quiet and travel-friendly<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The mounting head weighs 1.3 kg and features a Vixen-style saddle for your telescope or telephoto lens. Together with the aluminum tripod, the kit remains light enough for a pannier or carry-on luggage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The built-in rechargeable battery provides up to 10 hours of operating time at 20 degrees Celsius. For longer sessions, connect an external power supply via USB.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
