iOptron HAE16C AZ\/EQ Mount Dual SWG Hybrid: the lightest strain wave in the series<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The iOptron HAE16C is an AZ\/EQ mount with strain wave drive (harmonic drive) on both axes. Without counterweight, it carries 7.3 kg (16 lbs). Use it in alt-azimuth mode for quick visual observing or equatorial for long-exposure astrophotography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is the most compact HAE: small enough for carry-on luggage and strong enough for a compact apochromat or telephoto lens setup. The Go2Nova 8411 hand controller, WiFi, and GPS are included as standard in this version.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Time and position are set automatically by the GPS, so the setup is ready in minutes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Strain wave: power without counterbalance<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The strain wave gears deliver a high torque without backlash, making a counterweight unnecessary in most setups. That saves kilograms of heavy lifting and minutes of setup time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The electronic friction brake on both axes safely stops the mount in case of a power failure, and the power-down memory saves the alignment, so you can continue without re-aligning.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Operation of your choice<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Works with the included Go2Nova 8411 hand controller, or wirelessly via WiFi with iOptron Commander Lite or SkySafari. Computer control is available via ASCOM and INDI.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The USB port is used for firmware updates and wired control.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Double saddle, ready for any tube<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The dual saddle accepts Vixen and Losmandy-D rails. For heavier or unbalanced setups, add the optional counterweight bar with counterweight.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The head comes with a transport case or bag and without a tripod; it fits on matching iOptron tripods and mounts.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
