iOptron CEM70EC-NUC Mount: encoder precision, mini-PC ready<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The iOptron CEM70 is a center-balanced equatorial GoTo mount with a load capacity of 31.8 kg (70 lbs), excluding the counterweight, and a head weight of 13.6 kg (30 lbs). The weight is centered directly above the center of the tripod or column, which gives this mid-range mount its characteristic stability and tracking accuracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This version combines the EC's real-time RA encoder with the NUC preparation: a bracket at the front of the saddle accommodates an Intel NUC mini PC (up to 38 mm thick), and the connection panel powers and connects everything via internal cable management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The result is a fully automated precision setup without autoguiding and without loose cables.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Automating without guidance<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The encoder corrects the periodic error in real time to below 0.25 arcsecond RMS, while the NUC, using software such as NINA, controls the complete session: from GoTo to filter change and capture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wi-Fi and GPS are built-in, so remote control and setup are also fast.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

GoTo with GPS and heated hand controls<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Go2Nova 8407+ hand controller contains over 200,000 objects and has a display heater for cold nights. The built-in 32-channel GPS automatically sets the time and position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The adjustable counterweight shaft works down to the equator and the magnetically loaded gear system engages with large levers, even with gloves on. Autoguiding is possible via the ST-4 port.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cable management for complete photo setups<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The internal cable management offers, among other things, two 12V outputs and three USB 2.0 ports on the head. You can connect your camera, filter wheel, and focuser on top, without dangling cables that can snag during rotation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wide dual saddle accommodates both Vixen and Losmandy rails. The mount is supplied without a tripod; the LiteRoc tripod for the CEM60\/70 or a Tri-Pier is the appropriate base.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
