iOptron CEM70EC Mount iPolar: Precision mount with RA encoder<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The iOptron CEM70 is a center-balanced equatorial GoTo mount with a load capacity of 31.8 kg (70 lbs), excluding the counterweight, and a head weight of 13.6 kg (30 lbs). The weight is centered directly above the center of the tripod or column, which gives this mid-range mount its characteristic stability and tracking accuracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EC version uses a high-resolution encoder to measure the actual movement of the right ascension axis and corrects the periodic error in real time to below 0.25 arcsecond RMS.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With short and medium focal lengths, you photograph with it without autoguiding: less equipment, fewer cables, and a calmer workflow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real-time error correction on the RA axis<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The encoder continuously corrects without PEC training or guiding camera. Stars remain pinpoint in long unguided exposures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For long focal lengths, classical autoguiding via ST-4 remains possible.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

GoTo with GPS and heated hand controls<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Go2Nova 8407+ hand controller contains over 200,000 objects and has a display heater for cold nights. The built-in 32-channel GPS automatically sets the time and position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The adjustable counterweight shaft works down to the equator and the magnetically loaded gear system engages with large levers, even with gloves on. Autoguiding is possible via the ST-4 port.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cable management for complete photo setups<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The internal cable management offers, among other things, two 12V outputs and three USB 2.0 ports on the head. You can connect your camera, filter wheel, and focuser on top, without dangling cables that can snag during rotation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wide dual saddle accommodates both Vixen and Losmandy rails. The mount is supplied without a tripod; the LiteRoc tripod for the CEM60\/70 or a Tri-Pier is the appropriate base.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
