iOptron CEM70 EC2W Mount iPolar: dual encoders for the highest tracking accuracy<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The iOptron CEM70 is a center-balanced equatorial GoTo mount with a load capacity of 31.8 kg (70 lbs), excluding the counterweight, and a head weight of 13.6 kg (30 lbs). The weight is centered directly above the center of the tripod or column, which gives this mid-range mount its characteristic stability and tracking accuracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The EC2W is the top-of-the-line version with high-resolution encoders on both the right ascension and declination axes. Both axes are corrected in real-time, allowing the mount to compensate for residual errors from polar alignment and refraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For long, unattended photo sessions, this is the most accurate CEM70 in the range.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real-time correction on both axes<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Where an EC only corrects the RA axis, the EC2W also measures and corrects the declination. The result is tracking behavior where autoguiding can often be dispensed with, even at longer focal lengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

GoTo with GPS and heated hand controls<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Go2Nova 8407+ hand controller contains over 200,000 objects and has a display heater for cold nights. The built-in 32-channel GPS automatically sets the time and position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The adjustable counterweight shaft works down to the equator and the magnetically loaded gear system engages with large levers, even with gloves on. Autoguiding is possible via the ST-4 port.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Cable management for complete photo setups<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The internal cable management offers, among other things, two 12V outputs and three USB 2.0 ports on the head. You can connect your camera, filter wheel, and focuser on top, without dangling cables that can snag during rotation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The wide dual saddle accommodates both Vixen and Losmandy rails. The mount is supplied without a tripod; the LiteRoc tripod for the CEM60\/70 or a Tri-Pier is the appropriate base.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n
