Every eyepiece in your set will therefore provide 2x the magnification: a 20 mm eyepiece behaves like a 10 mm eyepiece. This instantly doubles the number of usable magnifications without buying new eyepieces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The 2x is the most commonly used factor and the safest choice for a first Barlow: it doubles your range without the image quickly becoming too dark or too unsettled.
