The Bresser AC 90\/1200 Messier OTA is the specialist among optical tube assemblies. With an f\/13.3 focal ratio, chromatic aberration is virtually eliminated, delivering the calm, high-contrast image for which long refractors are renowned: sharp lunar craters, the rings of Saturn, and beautiful double stars. The included solar filters also enable safe solar observation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Long achromat, minimal color error<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The 90 mm lens gathers about 165 times more light than the naked eye. With the 26 mm eyepiece, you view at 46x; use about 180x as a maximum. At f\/13.3, the image remains clear even at that magnification. Only use the solar filters if they are undamaged and never look at the sun without certified protection.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Note the long lever arm: the tube is lightweight but measures 1.2 meters. The Bresser EXOS-1\/EQ-4 mount with tripod (379 euros) is sufficient for visual observation; the Bresser EXOS-2\/EQ-5 mount on a tripod (539 euros) provides significantly more stability in windy conditions. Thanks to the Vixen-style dovetail, the tube fits on any mount with a standard Vixen clamp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
