Een goed gecollimeerde Newton maakt het verschil tussen een matig en een scherp beeld, zeker bij hoge vergrotingen op maan en planeten. Collimeren met een laser is eenvoudig: je schuift de collimator in de focuser, zet de laser aan en stelt de spiegels bij tot de rode punt zichzelf in het midden raakt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Het ingebouwde schuine projectievlak maakt het werk comfortabel: je ziet de laserpunt terugkomen terwijl je achter de telescoop aan de hoofdspiegel draait. Zo collimeer je ook een grote Dobson in je eentje, zonder heen en weer te lopen.
