On humid evenings, the glass at the front of the tube cools down quickly and condensation forms; this shield significantly slows down that process, so your session doesn't end prematurely with a blurry image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Additionally, the cap acts as a stray light shield. Light from streetlights or the moon that falls at an angle is blocked, which immediately results in more contrast. And during the day, the cap protects the glass from dust, scratches, and fingerprints.
