The meniscus lens corrects the mirror almost completely: no chromatic aberration and a small central obstruction, hence high contrast. The 100 mm aperture yields 54x with the included 26 mm eyepiece; use approximately 200x as the maximum (f\/14). Collimation is rarely needed, and the optics are virtually maintenance-free. Allow for 30 to 45 minutes of cool-down time: the closed tube needs to reach ambient temperature for the sharpest image.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The EXOS-1 mount<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The EXOS-1 is an EQ-4 class equatorial mount. After aligning on Polaris, you track objects with the slow-motion cables. The Bresser RA motor for EXOS-1 (155 euro) tracks automatically, and the Bresser polar finder scope for EXOS-1 (78 euro) speeds up alignment.
