The 40mm lens captures about 33 times more light than the naked eye, enough to reveal moon craters, Jupiter's moons, and Saturn's rings as a first discovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The focal length of 400 mm, along with the two included eyepieces (20 mm and 12.5 mm), provides magnifications of 20x and 32x. This is deliberately modest: a steady, clear image works much better for children than a shaky, highly magnified image. The prism provides a comfortable viewing angle of 90 degrees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
