Omegon Blocking Filter Infrared Filter 1.25\"<\/strong> is designed to effectively block the infrared spectrum, which is crucial when using modern CCD or CMOS cameras and when making visual observations with high-quality optics. Many lenses and optical systems allow infrared light to pass through while it is not focused on the same focal plane as visible light. The result: blur, color cast or loss of detail.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With this filter, all light above about 700 nanometers - the infrared spectrum - is actively blocked. This provides a sharper image and prevents chromatic distortion or halo effects around bright stars. Especially in astrophotography with color cameras without built-in IR-cut, this filter is essential. Visual observation with APO refractors or ED lenses can also improve the image by reducing color errors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The filter fits any 1.25\" eyepiece, camera adapter, or filter wheel. The glass is multi-coated and carefully polished for minimal reflections and maximum visible light transmission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
