This filter suppresses the most common forms of artificial lighting, including high-pressure sodium lamps and mercury vapor lighting, thereby tackling a broader portion of the interfering spectrum than a standard broadband filter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The light from emission nebulae around the H-beta and OIII lines is preserved. As a result, the pale glow of the sky background largely disappears, while nebulae, star clusters, and galaxy structures become more contrasted.
