On Jupiter, you can see clearer cloud bands, storm regions, and details such as the Great Red Spot. On Saturn, rings and atmospheric structures become more visible.

Additionally, the filter dims bright moonlight. The strong attenuation in the red part of the spectrum does, however, require a sufficient aperture.

Features

Warts #38A, dark blue

Strong contrast on Jupiter and Saturn

Dim field moonlight

Standard 2-inch thread

Compatibility

For telescopes with a 2-inch light path and a generous aperture. Color filters work best on a telescope with an aperture of approximately 100 mm or more: the filter reduces light, and the aperture must be able to compensate for that.

Specifications

Type

Color filter

Wart number

#38A

Color

Dark blue

Mount

2 inches

Glass

Tinted optical glass

Note

Strongly dampening, requires a larger opening

Observation goals

Moon and planets

You can find more accessories for this brand at the Omegon brand page.

Dark Blue Warts #38A color filter in a 2-inch mount.
