The Omegon Premium Flatfield 19mm delivers on its name: a flat field of view where stars remain pinpoint even at the edge. A wide-angle focal length with a 65-degree field of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series corrects the field curvature that makes most eyepieces blurry at the edge, and the ED lens element keeps the color reproduction pure. Even on fast Newtons around f\/5, the edge remains sharp.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Flat field, high contrast<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The optical construction with an ED element and multi-layer coating on all air-to-glass transitions delivers a sharp image with high contrast. Objects that drift to the edge retain their shape and sharpness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pleasant insight, parfocal series<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With an interpupillary distance of 16 mm, you can observe relaxedly, without black shadows if your eye is slightly off-axis. The series is parfocal: changing the focal length requires hardly any refocusing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 1.25-inch barrel has filter threads for moon and color filters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What do you see with 19 mm?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

On an 8-inch f\/5 Newtonian, 19mm gives a magnification of 53x: the Lagoon Nebula or a complete open star cluster then fits entirely in the field of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Even with a search reticle next to a shorter planetary eyepiece, the 19mm is a logical choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Premium Flatfield series ranges from 5.5 to 25mm and is parfocal: two or three focal lengths form a complete set. An Omegon moon filter (1.25 inch) dims the bright moon image at longer focal lengths.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
