Exceptional sharpness and contrast for high-res photography and visual observation of planets, the Moon, and double stars.

The long focal length makes high magnifications achievable with ordinary eyepieces and directly provides a usable image scale for planetary photography and lucky imaging.

Made for tough conditions

The closed, collimation-stable design is advantageous at observing sites with moderate seeing or high humidity: less airflow in the tube, less maintenance. With a 10 mm eyepiece, you are at 244x, and the practical maximum is around 400x for nights that allow it.

The dovetail depends on the Vixen or Losmandy style; dust cap is included.

Included

Cassegrain optics 203/2436

2-inch rear connection

Dust cover

Dovetail (Vixen- or Losmandy-style, depending on version)

Featured accessories

The Omegon Cronus 7 mm eyepiece (79 euros) provides 348x magnification for the clearest nights, and the Omegon 7–21 mm zoom eyepiece (69 euros) offers a continuously adjustable magnification range from 116x to 348x. An Omegon Premium 2-inch 50 percent moon filter (34.90 euros) makes viewing the Moon comfortable.

For whom yes, for whom no

For: planetary observers and high-res photographers who want maximum scale without a meter-long refractor. Not for: those seeking an all-rounder; for mixed deep-sky and planetary work, the ProNewton 203/1000 is the more versatile 8-inch. Still unsure between the models? The Choice assistant helpt. More Omegon is on the brand page.

Specifications

<table
