Sky-Watcher SkyMax-102 AZ-GTi: Planetary Sharpness with WiFi Control

The top-tier performance of the 102 line: the 102/1300 mm Maksutov-Cassegrain (f/12.7) on the AZ-GTi mount with built-in WiFi. Through the free SynScan app (iOS and Android, multilingual), choose from over 10,000 objects; the mount automatically slews to and tracks them. No internet needed: the mount creates its own network.

What do you see through the SkyMax-102?

The Moon is a landscape at this focal length: craters, rilles, and mountain ranges along the terminator. Jupiter shows cloud bands, Saturn its rings with the Cassini Division under good seeing, Mars its polar caps. Double stars and bright star clusters complete the program. This type of telescope is not designed for wide nebulae.

AZ-GTi: your smartphone as a star chart and remote control

The SynScan app shows what's visible tonight and points the telescope there with a single tap. Automatic tracking keeps objects steady in the eyepiece at high magnifications. With simple adapters and short exposures, initial steps in planetary photography are also possible.

This is how to get the most out of this telescope
