This means the laser itself is already misaligned, and you are collating to an incorrect starting point. The SCA adapter secures the collimator with an expanding rubber ring, centering it precisely and perpendicularly. What you align afterward is truly accurate.

That's how it works

Place the collimator in the focuser, point the laser dot via the secondary mirror to the center of the primary mirror, and then adjust the primary mirror until the beam returns onto itself. The entire process takes a few minutes after some practice and can be repeated each session.

Solidly executed

The laser is calibrated, the housing is made of metal and the bright red dot is also clearly visible on the mirror marking in the dark.

Featured accessories

A laser collimator is the first accessory for every Newtonian: collimation directly determines sharpness.
