The Celestron 8-24mm zoom eyepiece replaces an entire set of individual eyepieces. You steplessly zoom from 24mm wide-field views to 8mm planetary magnification, without changing eyepieces and without refocusing at every small increment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The apparent field of view grows as you zoom in: from 40 degrees at 24 mm to 60 degrees at 8 mm. The optics are fully multi-coated, and the 15 mm eye relief makes the eyepiece usable with glasses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Start at 24 mm to find an object and zoom in to 8 mm once it's centered. This works quickly and intuitively, especially for the moon and planets: you adjust the magnification to the current atmospheric conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The zoom ring rotates smoothly with clear markings at 8, 12, 18, and 24 mm. The 1.25-inch barrel has filter threads, so a moon filter screws directly underneath it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
