Because infrared light is much less affected by atmospheric turbulence, images of the Moon and planets are noticeably smoother and sharper, especially in moderate seeing conditions or when a planet is low in the sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Good to know: With many color cameras, the Bayer color layer is virtually transparent above 850 nm. With this filter, you can therefore effectively use a color camera as a full-resolution monochrome camera. To do this, set the white balance (WB_R and WB_B) to 50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What you capture with it<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\n<li>Sharper images of Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, and the Moon<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Planet detail in poor seeing or low altitude<\/li>\n\n\n<li>Shooting in twilight: infrared makes the background sky darker<\/li>\n\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Compatibility<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fits 1.25 inch focusers and filter wheels. Only suitable for cameras sensitive to infrared, such as the ASI174MM, ASI462MM, and ASI585MM.
