Omegon Premium Barlow Lens 5x Apochromatic (1.25 inch): apochromatic magnification without color aberration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The Omegon Premium Barlow Lens 5x uses an apochromatic design with four lenses. Color aberrations are thus virtually completely corrected: the image remains sharp and color-pure, even at the high magnifications for which a Barlow is actually intended. Where standard Barlows with two or three lenses show residual color on bright edges, the four-element apochromatic design corrects this almost completely. The multi-coating on all glass surfaces keeps light transmission high.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Who is the 5x factor for?<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A 5x factor is rarely useful for visual use: on most telescopes you will get well beyond the usable magnification. For planet photography with a fast Newton around f\/4 to f\/5, it is ideal: the effective f-ratio then falls exactly within the optimal range for planet cameras. Be honest with yourself about the intended use before choosing 5x.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
