Individual measurements with a hand-held meter tell you something about one moment, but not about how the sky behaves over the course of the night. The SQM-LU sky quality meter connects to a computer or laptop via USB, which reads the measurements. This way, you can track the brightness of the night sky for an entire night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It\u2019s handy if you already have a laptop next to your telescope, for example if you\u2019re star photographer<\/a>. You can also see how the sky changes behind your shots over the course of the night.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Take into account the length of your USB cable, and place the meter in a weatherproof casing if it will be left outside for an extended period. Because the lens measures a smaller section of the sky in a focused manner, always orient it in the same way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n If you want to measure without a computer nearby, then the SQM-LU-DL with a data logger<\/a> a better choice.
