With an astrolabium, astronomers determined the position of the sun and the stars and calculated the time from them. A regular astrolabium required a separate plate per latitude. The Spanish astronomer Juan de Rojas used a projection that works at every latitude in the 16th century.

Hemisferium makes replicas of historical scientific instruments. This astrolabe is therefore primarily a decorative and educational piece for the office or bookcase. Those who prefer to view the sky from outside have more use for it. a rotating star map for the Netherlands.

If you really want to work with it, then read the instructions first, because using an astrolabium takes some practice.
