A tiny meteorite in a box might not stand out much. If you’re looking for a piece that you can put down and show to others, this real meteorite Al Haggounia, weighing 7 to 15 grams, is a good choice. It’s a stony meteorite from the Western Sahara.

In proportion, this meteorite has been found in much larger quantities, which means that you also encounter larger pieces of it than of rarer types. Such a piece lends itself well for a desk or display case, and also for Astronomy in the classroom, where students can actually see the rock formations.

Shape and exact weight vary per piece. Preferably handle it with gloves and store it in a dry place, as moisture and skin fat are not good for the surface. If you do carry it around, place it on a cloth or in a bowl.

With a 55 mm loudspeaker You can see the surface in detail. If you want a smaller piece of the same meteorite, then there is the fragment of 0.8 to 1.5 grams.

A piece of 7 to 15 grams of a stone meteorite from the Western Sahara.
