You choose this strength when the cylinder value on your eyeglass prescription is at or closest to 1.50.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is how you look without glasses, with the full eye relief of your eyepiece, and without the reflections that glasses add. Glasses correct this, but they take up eye distance and catch stray light.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Dioptrx is a cylindrical lens that you screw onto the eyepiece. You adjust the axis by rotating the lens until stars become points, and then you look without glasses with full correction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Choosing the right strength<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The strength you need is the cylinder value from your eyeglass prescription, the number next to \"cil\" or \"cyl.\" Use the value from the eye you see with.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If your cylinder value falls between two diopter strengths, choose the closest one; small deviations will not be noticeable to the telescope. The spherical component of your prescription does not matter: you can simply correct it with the focusing knob.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Featured accessories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Dioptrx fits any TeleVue eyepiece with the Dioptrx mount, including the Ethos, Delos, DeLite series, and the longer Panoptics and Ploessls.
