TeleVue Starbeam: LED Finderscope: LED finder with projection window<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The TeleVue Starbeam is the LED finder in its most luxurious form: a machined aluminum housing, a large projection window, and a continuously adjustable red dot. This version comes with a base for Schmidt-Cassegrain telescopes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The base mounts to the common screw holes of the SC tube, after which the finder can be attached and removed with a handle without losing alignment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aim with both eyes open<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The Starbeam projects a red dot onto a large, bright window. You look through it with both eyes at the actual sky and align the dot with your target: where the dot is, the telescope points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The window is significantly larger than with conventional red-dot sights, and the viewing is flexible: the dot remains visible even from an angle. The brightness is continuously adjustable to a level that preserves your dark adaptation, and the flip cover protects the optics when the sight is not in use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Why a<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

An optical viewfinder magnifies and mirrors; you have to learn to think differently. A dot in the real sky asks for nothing: you see the constellation as on the map and place the dot in the right spot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Combined with a low-power wide-field eyepiece, that's the fastest way of star-hopping for most observers, even without GoTo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This version: with SC base<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The included foot is made for the tube of a Schmidt-Cassegrain and replaces or utilizes the standard finder bracket of the tube.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you use a second telescope in addition to the SC, a separate extra foot is sufficient to switch the one Starbeam between both instruments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
