The DeLite 15 mm delivers a low to medium magnification with a wide apparent field of view. For extended objects and for locating targets, this is a practical choice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DeLite series is designed as a compact version of the Delos: the same principle of a long eye relief, but with a 62-degree field of view and a smaller housing. This makes the series suitable for mounts and binoviewers where weight is a factor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DeLite series is designed as a narrower Ethos field of view with more eye relief. By keeping the apparent field of view at 62 degrees, TeleVue was able to bring the eye relief to 20mm without making the eyepiece unmanageably large.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For eyeglass wearers, that's the difference between seeing the full field of vision and missing a part of it. Even without glasses, you're looking more relaxed because your eye doesn't have to push against the lens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Search without switching<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

With this brand point spacing, you can locate an object and keep observing it right away. On a Dobsonian without GoTo, this saves you from having to keep switching eyepieces in the dark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On most telescopes, the exit pupil comes out between 2 and 3 mm, which keeps the sky background sufficiently dark under a moderately light-polluted sky.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Interpupillary distance and adjustable eyecup<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The eyecup is steplessly adjustable in height and lockable in any position, with index markings so you can find a previously found position. This ensures your eye's pupil is always in the same position relative to the telescope's exit pupil.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That's more than comfort. A misplaced eye causes edge discoloration and shadows in the image. With a fixed, repeatable eye position, that problem is gone, even during long sessions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In your telescope<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In a telescope with a 1200 mm brand focal length, this eyepiece provides approximately 80x magnification with a true field of view of about 0.77 degrees. To calculate this for your own telescope, use the field stop: true field of view = 57.3 \u00d7 field stop divided by the telescope\u2019s brand focal length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The effective field stop of this model is 16.2 mm. That number determines how much of the sky you actually see, not just the brand point distance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
