De TeleVue Ploessl 55 mm is het 2 inch vlaggenschip van de serie, met een veldstop van 46 mm op het maximum van de steek en een oogafstand van ongeveer 38 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het is het oculair voor de allerlaagste vergroting: hetzelfde ware veld als de Panoptic 41 mm, tegen een lagere prijs en met nog meer ruimte achter de ooglens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TeleVue Ploessl design<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Four lenses in two groups are all a good Ploessl needs. Because there are few glass surfaces, transmission remains high and contrast is maximized: precisely the characteristics that matter for planetary and lunar observation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TeleVue T-type optics brought the design to the current level in the seventies, with tight manufacturing tolerances, multiple coatings, and blackened lens edges. You can see the difference compared to a standard supplied eyepiece right at the edge of the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De laagste vergroting die 2 inch toelaat<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Op een Schmidt-Cassegrain van f\/10 levert de 55 mm een uittredepupil van 5,5 mm en het grootst mogelijke veld: precies waarvoor dit oculair is bedoeld. Op een snelle Newton wordt diezelfde pupil groter dan het oog benut en gaat er licht verloren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De in hoogte verstelbare oogschelp helpt om het oog op de royale afstand van de ooglens stabiel te positioneren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In een telescoop met 1200 mm brandpuntsafstand levert dit oculair ongeveer 22x met een waar beeldveld van circa 2,20 graden. Voor je eigen telescoop: waar beeldveld = 57,3 x veldstop gedeeld door de brandpuntsafstand van de telescoop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De effectieve veldstop van dit model is 46,0 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A TeleVue 2x or 3x Barlow lens doubles or triples the magnification of any Ploessl eyepiece without any loss of quality; two Ploessl eyepieces plus a Barlow lens thus cover four magnification levels. Models 25 mm and larger also accept the Dioptrx astigmatism corrector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
