TeleVue Pl\u00f6ssl 25mm: 50\u00b0 1.25\u2033 Eyepiece: Classic Pl\u00f6ssl eyepiece from TeleVue<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The TeleVue Ploessl 25mm is the direct upgrade from the 25mm eyepiece that comes with almost any telescope. The same magnification, but with the sharpness, contrast, and finish the series is known for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The eye relief of approximately 18 mm makes it the first in the series to be easily usable with glasses as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TeleVue Ploessl design<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Four lenses in two groups are all a good Ploessl needs. Because there are few glass surfaces, transmission remains high and contrast is maximized: precisely the characteristics that matter for planetary and lunar observation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

TeleVue T-type optics brought the design to the current level in the seventies, with tight manufacturing tolerances, multiple coatings, and blackened lens edges. You can see the difference compared to a standard supplied eyepiece right at the edge of the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The fairest comparison<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Precisely because the magnification is the same as that of the included eyepiece, you can clearly see here what optical quality does: sharper stars at the edges, more neutral colors, and a noticeably calmer image.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For many observers, this is therefore their first TeleVue, and the benchmark against which later purchases are measured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In your telescope<\/h4>\n\n\n\n

In a telescope with a focal length of 1200 mm, this eyepiece provides approximately 48x magnification with a true field of view of about 1.01 degrees. For your own telescope: true field of view = 57.3 x field stop divided by the telescope's focal length.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The effective field stop of this model is approximately 21.2 mm.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Featured accessories<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

A TeleVue 2x or 3x Barlow lens doubles or triples the magnification of any Ploessl eyepiece without any loss of quality; two Ploessl eyepieces plus a Barlow lens thus cover four magnification levels. Models 25 mm and larger also accept the Dioptrx astigmatism corrector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
