The 304 mm parabolic mirror collects 1886 times more light than the naked eye, and the 2-inch dual-speed Crayford focuser also enables pinpoint sharpness at high magnifications. On paper, magnification up to around 608x is feasible; the Dutch atmosphere usually limits planetary observation to around 300x, but the advantage of twelve inches lies in what you see extra at every magnification.
