In this blog post you will discover everything you need to know about this extraordinary celestial phenomenon and how best to enjoy this cosmic spectacle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>What are the Geminids?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Geminids are an annual meteor swarm created when Earth passes through a trail of space debris left behind by the mysterious asteroid <strong>3200 Phaethon<\/strong>. Unlike most meteor swarms, which originate from comets, the Geminids are unique in that their origin is an asteroid. This makes the Geminids' particles more solid and makes them brighter and more colorful when they enter our atmosphere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The name \u2018Geminids\u2019 comes from the constellation <strong>Gemini (Gemini)<\/strong>, where the meteors seem to start.
