Clear image with lots of detail
The Skywatcher N 200/1000 BD EQ5 PDS lets you see more than you ever can with a small telescope. Thanks to the 200 mm aperture, you catch a lot of light. Your image remains clear, even when you zoom in further. You will see structures in nebulae, fine details in galaxies and single stars in globular clusters such as M13. You immediately see more depth and contrast, making it easier to recognize what you are looking at.

Sharp and calm image even at high magnification
The parabolic mirror keeps the image sharp. This helps you especially when viewing planets and small deep-sky objects. The thin capture mirror arms provide extra contrast, so edges and details come into focus more quietly. So you see more without your eyes having to search.

Bright f/5 tube: ideal for bright images
The f/5 ratio makes the image bright. That means you see faint nebulae faster and wide fields of stars stay nicely filled. With 2″ eyepieces, you get a large and spacious image, making it easier to navigate the sky. This is especially helpful when looking for large objects such as Andromeda or the Orion Nebula.
PDS version for precise focusing
The Dual-Speed Crayford focuser makes focusing smooth and precise. You turn fine with 1:10 delay, finding the exact point at which your image becomes still and sharp. Ideal when you want to take pictures later, but also fine for visual use. The shorter tube and larger capture mirror give extra room for cameras. So you can grow on whenever you want.
EQ5 mount: solid and precise tracking
The EQ5 mount gives you stability. You move quietly through the sky and easily follow an object. With the rotary knobs you keep planets neatly in view without vibration. After a simple alignment to the Pole Star, you can aim and track more accurately. And if you want to add motors later, you can do so without effort.
Start watching immediately
You get everything you need to get started right away. The 28 mm 2″ eyepiece gives you a wide view, perfect for orientation. The 9×50 viewfinder helps you find new objects quickly. You set the telescope down, focus, and you're looking straight into space.
What to expect
Moon: sharp edges, craters and shadows
Jupiter: cloud bands and moons
Saturn: rings clearly visible
Deep-sky: nebulae, star clusters and galaxies with more structure and brightness
What we recommend
✓ For beginners and advanced students
✓ Powerful for deep-sky and planets
✓ Expandable for photography
✗ Do not use for Sun without safe filters
✗ Vibration in wind possible without additional stability
