Smart, compact and razor-sharp for moon and planets
The Sky-Watcher SkyMax 102 AZ-GTi GoTo WiFi Telescope combines the excellent optical performance of a Maksutov-Cassegrain with the convenience of modern GoTo control. With its 102 mm aperture and 1300 mm focal length (f/12.7), this telescope delivers sharp, high-contrast images - perfect for anyone who wants to effortlessly observe the Moon, planets and binary stars in detail.

Bright details on the Moon and planets
The long focal length provides powerful magnifications and high contrast. You'll effortlessly see the cloud bands on Jupiter, the Cassini line in the rings of Saturn and the polar caps of Mars. The Moon also comes alive with sharp shadows along the terminator line, in which craters, mountains and lunar seas are clearly visible.
Although designed primarily for planetary observation, the SkyMax 102 performs surprisingly well on bright deep-sky objects such as the Orion Nebula or the Pleiades. Thanks to the closed optical system, image quality remains stable even in changing temperatures or wind.

Easy operation via WiFi
The AZ-GTi mount makes stargazing effortless and intuitive. With built-in WiFi, you connect the telescope directly to the SynScan app on your smartphone or tablet (available in multiple languages, including Dutch and English). You easily choose from more than 10,000 celestial objects - the mount searches and tracks them automatically.
Thanks to the alt-azimuth setup, you don't need to perform complicated polar alignment. The telescope moves smoothly in elevation and direction, keeping objects stable in view even at higher magnifications.

Compact, lightweight and ready to use immediately
With its compact tube and lightweight aluminum tripod, the SkyMax 102 AZ-GTi is extremely portable. Within minutes it is set up and you can start observing. The telescope comes with 25 mm and 10 mm eyepieces (1.25”) and a red-dot finder, which allows easy manual aiming when desired.
The telescope can be powered by batteries or an external 12V power supply, ideal for use in the garden or while traveling.
What we recommend
The SkyMax 102 AZ-GTi is ideal for:
- Beginners and advanced students who want to combine sharp planetary observations with modern convenience.
- Visual observation of the Moon and planets with high contrast and detail.
- First steps in planetary photography with simple adapters and short exposures.
What you can see with it:
- Moon: numerous craters, mountains and lunar seas in sharp relief.
- Jupiter: cloud bands and the four largest moons.
- Saturn: ring structures with Cassini alignment.
- Mars: polar caps and slight differences in color.
- Orion Nebula, Andromeda Nebula and the Pleiades in good conditions.
Note: For deep-sky photography, this telescope is less suitable due to its long focal length and alt-az mount.
