At Telescoop.com, you can easily and reliably rent a telescope for shorter or longer periods. This rental policy describes the general terms and conditions for renting a telescope from us. By renting a telescope, you agree to the following terms.
Rental Procedure
1. Reservation
You can make reservations through the telescope rental page, by email (info@telescoop.nl) or by phone on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM. Please include your name, desired rental period, delivery address, and any preferences.
2. Confirmation and Payment.
After receiving your request, you'll get a non-binding quote within 24 hours. Once you accept it, you'll receive an invoice for the rental fee and deposit. Both must be paid in full before delivery.
3. Delivery and Return
We deliver the telescope to your specified address within the Netherlands. After the rental period, we'll pick it up from you. Transportation costs are listed separately in the quote.
Rental Terms
Rental Period
- Minimum rental period: 2 days
- Rental extension is possible upon agreement
- Rental prices are calculated weekly, with a fixed price structure
Usage
- Use the telescope exclusively for astronomical or educational purposes
- Always follow the provided instructions
- If in doubt, feel free to contact us for explanation or guidance
Return
At the end of the rental period, we expect that:
- The telescope and all accessories are returned complete and in the same condition
- The contents are checked for completeness (including lenses, filters, tripod, cables, etc.)
- Any damage or missing items are reported upon return
- Damages or missing parts may be deducted from the deposit
Deposit and Insurance
Deposit
A deposit is required for each telescope, depending on the type. The exact amount will be specified in the quote. The deposit will be refunded to your account within 5 business days after correct return.
Insurance
- Our telescope systems are insured against normal wear and tear
- Damage due to careless use, intent, or negligence is not covered
- In case of loss or theft, the full replacement value will be charged
Cancellation or Modification
Cancellation
- Free cancellation is possible up to 48 hours before scheduled delivery
- For cancellations within 24 hours before delivery, 50% of the rental fee will be charged
- No-shows without cancellation will be charged the full rental fee
Modifications
- Changes to the rental period or delivery details are possible up to 48 hours before delivery, subject to availability
- A €15 administration fee applies for modification requests within 24 hours before delivery
Extension or Purchase after Rental
Want to use the telescope longer than agreed? Contact us in time to extend. In many cases, it's also possible to purchase the rented telescope with an attractive discount. We'll partially offset the rental amount against the purchase price.
Liability
- Telescoop.co.uk is not liable for damage resulting from improper use of the telescope
- The renter is always responsible for the careful use of the equipment
- In case of misuse, destruction, or loss, we reserve the right to claim full compensation
