The Celestron AstroMaster 70AZ Moon Edition is a special edition of the popular AstroMaster 70AZ, developed for those who want to explore the moon in all its details. With its 70 mm opening and long focal length of 900 mm (f/12.9) this refractor delivers exceptionally sharp, high-contrast images of the lunar surface. Craters, seas, ridges and shadows come alive even at high magnifications up to 140×.

The Moon Edition comes with a special moon filter & smartphone holder , which attenuates the brightness of moonlight and increases contrast. So you can observe comfortably for longer without glare, and see subtle height differences and crater walls sharper than ever.

Classic design, modern simplicity

The achromatic lens minimizes color errors and provides bright, true-to-life images. The telescope features a stable alt-azimuth mount with which to move smoothly, ideal for visual observations. With the red dot finder easily point the telescope at the moon or planets, and the 1.25″ rack-and-pinion focuser makes focusing smooth and precise.

Thanks to the included Amici prism gives the telescope a upright picture, making it also usable during the day for nature observation. The steel tripod legs and the accessory tray provide stability and ease of use, while the tube is connected via a dovetail attachment can be quickly assembled without tools.
