The perfect combination of precision and performance
The Celestron CGX 1100 EdgeHD is a telescope for those who want uncompromising observation or photography. With a opening of 279 mm (11 inches) captures 1.4× more light than the EdgeHD 9.25, giving deep-sky objects such as galaxies, nebulae and globular clusters a brightness normally reserved for fixed observatories. The EdgeHD optics delivers a perfectly flat image without distortion, coma or spherical aberration, even on full-frame sensors. Whether observing visually or photographing, every image remains sharp all the way to the far corners of the field.
The StarBright XLT coating maximizes light transmission so that even dim objects appear with impressive contrast. For photographers, the telescope can be expanded with the 0.7× reducer or even the Starizona HyperStar, which shortens the focal ratio to f/1.9, ideal for extremely fast astrophotography with large sensors.

Powerful CGX mount with high carrying capacity
Below the optical tube is the CGX mount, designed for maximum stability and precision. With a load capacity of 25 kg (55 lb) it effortlessly supports the 11-inch tube plus accessories. The drive with belt and pulley minimizes backlash, while the spring-loaded worm wheels ensure smooth tracking. Even at long focal lengths of 2800 mm, movement remains quiet and precise.
The ergonomics are well thought out: built-in handles, smoothly adjustable elevation and azimuth knobs and internal cabling for a tidy setup. The mount can be easily polled thanks to All-Star Polar Alignment and keeps celestial objects accurately in view thanks to Permanent Periodic Error Correction (PPEC)..

Ready for observation as well as photography
The CGX 1100 EdgeHD offers the best of both worlds: exceptional visual performance and photographic precision. Standard you receive a 23 mm eyepiece, a 9×50 viewfinder and a star diagonal for comfortable observing. Aim at the Moon, Jupiter, Saturn or Orion Nebula, the image remains clear, sharp and full of detail. Connect your DSLR or astro camera and use the mount for accurate tracking during long exposures.

Smart electronics and GoTo control
With the NexStar+ hand controller navigate effortlessly through more than 40,000 celestial objects. The LCD screen with red backlight preserves your night vision, while the USB connection allows pairing with Celestron CPWI Software or SkyPortal WiFi enables. Through these platforms, you plan observations, track objects automatically and manage the telescope directly via laptop or tablet.

Made for fixed or mobile setups
The rugged construction makes the CGX 1100 EdgeHD ideal for both backyard observatories as mobile setups. The steel legs of 51 mm, a screwed power contact and internal cable routing guarantee reliability in long-term use. Built-in home and limit sensors protect against collisions, so you can automatically drag and track without worry.
With a 20 kg mount, a 13 kg tube and three counterweights of 5 kg each, the system is still portable, but stable enough for serious astrophotography.

What you can see with it
- Subtle bands and shadows on Jupiter
- The Cassini separation and color bands of Saturn
- Polar caps and dust storms on Mars
- Structures in Orion Nebula (M42), Trifid (M20) and Lagoon (M8)
- Spiral arms of galaxies such as Andromeda (M31), Whirlpool (M51) and Sombrero (M104)
- The brightest globular clusters, such as M13 in Hercules
