Celestron Maksutov Telescope MC 102/1325 NexStar 4 SE GoTo is a compact yet high-quality telescope that combines classic design with modern technology. The orange tube is a nod to the iconic Celestron models of the 1970s, while the optics feature the advanced XLT coating. This multilayer anti-reflection coating provides up to 10% higher light transmission in the crucial wavelength range around 500 nm, giving you brighter and more contrasty images.
With its 102 mm aperture and 1325 mm focal length, the Maksutov-Cassegrain optics delivers sharp images with high contrasts. This makes the telescope particularly suitable for observing the moon and planets, as well as for tracking bright deep-sky objects such as the Orion Nebula or the Andromeda Nebula. Thanks to its compact construction and long focal length, the telescope offers high magnifications without making the system large or heavy.
The included Travel Pro fork mount makes the NexStar 4 SE unique. The optical tube can be easily detached and even taken on an airplane as hand luggage, while the mount is also compatible with other optics, such as a solar telescope or camera setups. The GoTo control with SkyAlign makes alignment especially easy: point the telescope at any three stars, enter time and location, and the computer automatically recognizes the sky. At the touch of a button, the telescope navigates to more than 40,000 objects in the database.
Thanks to Flash Eprom technology, the handheld is future-proof and can be updated via the Internet. The optional GPS module saves you time by automatically setting coordinates and time. Via the supplied cable, the telescope can also directly control a DSLR camera for serial shots, for example of a lunar eclipse. With the NexRemote software, you can easily control the telescope via PC or laptop.
Application
Use this telescope to observe the moon in detail, including craters and valleys, and planets such as Jupiter (with its moons), Saturn (with rings) and Mars (with polar caps). The large focal length makes the telescope ideal for high magnifications in planetary observations. Bright deep-sky objects such as the Orion Nebula and the Andromeda Nebula are also easily visible. For fainter deep-sky objects, the aperture of 102 mm is limited. Thanks to its portable construction, this model is great for travelers, balcony observers or anyone who wants a compact GoTo system with serious performance.
